This tall vase is defined by its graceful, elongated egg-shaped form and an off-white glaze softly touched by ash from the wood firing. Gentle grey tones emerge across the upper half, revealing the subtle interaction of flame, ash and clay.
The glaze around the lower part of the vase matured with an unusually matt and varied surface during firing. Careful finishing revealed small areas of the dark clay body beneath, adding depth and character to the surface. Together with its slightly uneven stance, these marks of the firing embrace the spirit of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in the unexpected and in the unique journey of each handmade piece.
